Bai Dinh Pagoda – The majestic beauty of a pure place

Bai Dinh Pagoda located on the mountainside, between the immense valley of the lake and the rocky mountains is a temple with monumental architecture, voluminous but bold traditional identity, hailed as the largest temple complex in Southeast Asia. That is the Bai Dinh temple complex.

The pagoda is located at the western gateway of Hoa Lu ancient capital, 15 km from Ninh Binh city, 95 km from Hanoi. Bai Dinh pagoda complex consists of an old temple area and a new pagoda area built in 2003. Bai Dinh Pagoda’s name means meaning towards Mount Dinh, the place where heroic events took place in Vietnamese history. The architecture of the new temple stands out with its large, majestic cubes, combined with the use of special materials that help highlight Vietnam’s architecture. The architectural decorative details are also imprinted with the imprints of famous traditional craft villages in Vietnam with the contribution of 500 artisans and many craftsmen from famous craft villages. These artisans are using local materials to create a pure Vietnamese feature in the architecture of the Bai Dinh pagoda.
